What is Capsule Endoscopy?

Capsule endoscopy is an innovative test that uses a small, swallowable capsule with a miniature camera to take thousands of images of the small intestine.

Unlike colonoscopy or gastroscopy, which examine the large bowel or upper digestive tract, capsule endoscopy focuses on the small bowel, an area that is otherwise difficult to visualise.
